Gathering 12-18 June 2023
Athlone Ireland
Programme
We visited a number of familiar sites along with several new sites in what
was a very enjoyable Gathering:
- Athlone Town and Castle
- Stokestown House and National Famine Museum
- Dunblaney, Clonberne and Park Castle
- Redwood Castle and Lorrha Town
- Battle of Aughrim Interpretive Centre
- Viking Boat from Athlone to Clonmacnoise and Shannon Bridge Fort
- Drum Heritage Centre and Hedge School
In between these visits we had plenty of Pub time in Athlone Town for craic.
Futures
It is anticipated that there will be a number of organisational changes following
the Rally with a significant emphasis on growing the membership particularly in
Ireland but also within the Chapters. There will be a renewed focus on affordable
family friendly rallies including local get togethers in the various chapters,
including perhaps new Canadian and Irish Chapters.
The next Rally will be in the USA in 2025 at a location yet to be confirmed. Gatherings
in Ireland will continue every four years with the next one provisionally in 2027.
